When the law authorises or requires us to collect information
We may collect information where we are required or authorised by law to do so. For example, we need personal information to verify your identity under Australian Anti-Money Laundering law.

What do we collect via your website activity?
If you use our online services, we monitor usage to verify identity, deliver information and improve our services. If you start but don’t complete an online application, we may contact you using details you supplied to help you finish it. Incomplete application information will be retained temporarily and destroyed if not completed.

We may collect information when you interact with us on social media, but confidential matters will be dealt with through secure channels.

To improve our services we sometimes collect de-identified data from web users, such as IP or geographic information, to analyse and enhance online performance. How we collect and hold your credit information
We will collect credit information when you respond to our enquiries about credit assistance. Other sources of credit information may include your co-applicants, guarantors, employers, agents, referees and relevant service providers.

What do we do when we get information we didn’t ask for?
If we receive unsolicited information we will check whether it is reasonably necessary for our functions. If it is, we will handle it in the same way as other information we collect. If not, we will destroy or de-identify it.

When will we notify you that we have received your information?
When we receive personal information directly from you we will take reasonable steps to notify you about how and why we collected it, who we may disclose it to and how you can access it, correct it or complain. If we collect identifying information from third parties we will take reasonable steps to notify you.

How do we take care of your personal information?
We store information in paper and electronic form and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access or disclosure. Measures include document storage policies, system access controls and limiting access to verified personnel.
